How to Get a White Box

White Boxes are boxes that have 3-star and above characters or equipment inside. There are two kinds of banners to pull from in Guardian Tales: hero and equipment banners, which have their own separate probabilities. Pulling from the Pickup Hero Summon banners has the following probabilities:

  • 1-star hero: 78.250%
  • 2-star hero: 19%
  • 3-star hero: 2.750%
  • 3-star unique hero: 1.375%

The Pickup Equipment Summon probabilities are:

  • 2-star equipment: 58%
  • 3-star equipment: 27%
  • 4-star equipment: 9%
  • 5-star equipment: 3%

You may have seen several strategies floating around the internet claiming to increase your chances of acquiring White Boxes, like donating gold in stage 6-1, but unfortunately from all of our testing, it seems to be irrelevant.

This does not mean that Guardian Tales doesn’t have some sort of hidden built-in luck or pity mechanic, as we don’t have enough evidence to prove so. In the end, however, it seems like it’s all about chance. Guardian Tales’ gacha summons seem to function just like any other gacha game, so you just have to cross your fingers and hope you’re lucky when you pull.

Do keep in mind that you receive Mileage Tickets every time you summon, which can be spent in the Mileage Shop for unique heroes. In a way, the Mileage Tickets function as the game’s pity mechanic.

That’s about all you need to know for White Boxes. If you have any other tips, tricks, or questions, let us know in the comments below!
