To get Livestock on your farm you can order them from the Ledger. From there you can order different types of male and female Cows, Sheep and Chickens. If you are looking to breed your animals make sure you have a mix of male and female. The female animals (beside Sheep) are worth a bit more because they produce resources.

Chickens will need a Coop to live in, each Coop houses eight birds maximum and can also house Ducks. If you have too many birds you can upgrade the Coop for 100,000 to house up to sixteen birds. Don’t forget to feed the birds in the Coop with Birdseed purchased for 100 per bag via the Ledger.

Livestock need their own farm building – the Barn. The barns will house up to eight Cows, Sheep and Goats who each need their own feeding trough. The troughs should be filled with Fodder bought from the Ledger, or grown on your land using fertilizer and harvested using a Sickle. The barn can also be upgraded for 100,000 to house up to 15 animals.

There are also Goats and Ducks but these don’t come from the Ledger like Sheep and Cows. To attract some ducks you will need to buy a Pond from the Ledger instead which costs 10,000. There will also have to be a couple of spare spots clear in your Coop for ducks to start arriving. Two Ducks, one male and one female, will fly in and settle in their new home.

Take great care of your animals by snuggling and grooming them with a brush to keep them in a good mood. Animals with high happiness level in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life will produce high quality resources to sell.
