Introduced in the 1.1 update, the Drax is one of the hard mode accessories in Terraria that can mine any block in the game except Lihzahrd Bricks. With 200 percent mining power, 110 percent axe power, rapid attack speed and 35 damage, the Drax is inarguably an effective and iconic weapon in the game.
However, every Terraria weapon has a counterpart, and Drax is no different. A pickaxe is a terrific substitute for the same, which is slightly slower than the Drax but does not have a -1 range penalty.
Like every other item in Terraria, the players can’t obtain the Drax right away. Therefore, this article specifically helps players acquiring the Drax in a short space of time.
How to get Drax in Terraria
The only way to get Drax in Terraria is by crafting 18x Hallowed Bar, Soul of Fright, Soul of Might, and Soul of Sight at Mythril or Orichalcum Anvil. However, before crafting it, players must defeat all three mechanical bosses (The Destroyer, The Twins, and Skeleton Prime).
On the other hand, the process to make Drax is a bit different for 3DS users. They can find the weapon Shadow Chests in The Underworld, regardless of whether the world is in Hardmode or not.
Here are the Drax stats:
- Damage: 35
- Critical Chance: 4 percent
- Use Time: 15
- Tool Speed: 4
- Knockback: 4.75
Taking these stats into account, Drax can serve as a melee weapon suitable for close-range combats. Additionally, players can boost the overall stats of the weapon by using Godly and Demonic modifiers.
