Among the Pokemon that become available after the National Dex is unlocked are many fan favorites from previous Pokemon gens, like Growlithe. Here’s where to find one of the original 151 Pokemon.

How to Get Growlithe in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

As already mentioned, Growlithe will only become available after unlocking the National Dex, so you will have to at least see all of the Sinnoh Pokemon before you can catch one. Additionally, Growlithe only appears in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond, so you will need to trade to get one in Pokemon Shining Pearl.

Once the National Dex has been unlocked, Growlithe will start appearing in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond in the Grand Underground. It can be found in caves with elements that have some sort of affinity to fire, such as Volcanic Cave, Sandsear Cave, Spacious Cave, and Typhlo Cavern. The Pokemon isn’t particularly rare, so you should have no trouble catching one once you have unlocked the National Dex and have become the champion of the Sinnoh League.
