Making things tenser is the fact that you cannot fail whatsoever, as a single loss will end your win streak. Here are some suggestions that will help you achieve a high win streak in the Battle Tower.

As already mentioned, succeeding in the Battle Tower and getting a high win streak mostly boils down to putting together the right Pokemon team, considering that level will be capped at 50. In singles, you are allowed to bring 3 Pokemon, while in doubles, you can bring 4 of them.

While it is definitely possible to get a high win streak in singles in the Battle Tower with any Pokemon team, you will have a much easier time if you put Gyarados in your team. The Pokemon’s attacks have a decent type coverage, and its Intimidate Ability lets you easily set up Dragon Dance, which boosts Attack and Speed. In addition, Gyarados is the best choice for dealing with the Tower Tycoon‘s teams, which you will fight on the 21st and 49th consecutive battles.

Tyranitar is also an extremely solid choice, thanks to its great stats and the same Dragon Dance move that Gyarados has. In addition, Tyranitar also gets improved defense in a Sandstorm, which the Pokemon sets up naturally, so he also has great durability against most Pokemon types, with the exception of those capable of using Fighting-Type moves. As Scizor is also capable of boosting Attack with Swords Dance, this Pokemon is also a decent choice for a sweeper, although it is not as good as Tyrantiar, lacking the natural defense boost coming from the Sandstorm and the Speed boost coming from Dragon Dance.

With two powerful sweepers already on your team, you have a few more choices to round up your singles’ team, depending on what you are aiming for. If you’re aiming to go for a team that can destroy all sorts of opponents quickly and effectively, you can bring Cloyster, who also comes with great durability, or Lucario, who is an amazing physical attacker. If you want to make things a little more balanced, and want to bring a pure tank, Snorlax is a very good choice for a Pokemon that can take more than a few hits, thanks to the Rest and Leftovers moves, but also deal significant damage.

Putting together a good team for doubles, on the other hand, can be a little more complicated, given the nature of double matches. As far as damage dealers go, Tyranitar and Scizor work as well as they do in singles, and a Pokemon like Ludicolo can be a great choice as well, given its versatility and type.

For supporters, there are a lot of valid choices, which mostly depend on the Pokemon you are using as damage dealers. As a general rule, those with the Intimidate ability are the best choices, as they lower the attack of the opponent, helping your team to survive for longer. Arcanine also comes with Snarl, which not only deals damage to the opponents but also lowers their Special Attack, making it a great choice. Togekiss is also a very good choice for support Pokemon, thanks to its general excellent durability and the Follow Me move that makes all opponents target it, thus making it very easy to set up the damage dealer without having to worry about it getting defeated.

Given how Item choices and EV Training can further shake things up, there are so many good Pokemon choices that experimenting will be the only way for you to find the correct team. Combine our own suggestions with your knowledge of the game, and you will become a Battle Tower master in no time at all!
