Larvitar is a Pokemon that has been very popular ever since its debut back in Generation 2. Its Dark/Rock dual typing makes it a very powerful battler, especially once it evolves into its final form Tyranitar. Here is how to go about getting a Larvitar in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
What Game Larvitar Is In
First and foremost, Larvitar is a version exclusive, meaning that it’s only available to catch in the wild in one version of the game. If you have Pokemon Brilliant Diamond, you will be able to find it. If you have Shining Pearl, you will need to do a trade to get it. If you haven’t purchased the game yet but you really want a Larvitar, be sure to get Shining Pearl.
Where To Get Larvitar In Brilliant Diamond
Larvitar will not become available until after you complete the main story, complete the Sinnoh Dex and defeat the Elite Four. After this, you will unlock the National Dex, which will allow you to now capture Pokemon that are normally found in places outside of the Sinnoh Region.
When it comes to catching it, you have two options. You can go to Route 207 and use the Pokeradar to find it in the grass, or you can visit the Underground section beneath where the Pokemon League is. You will find Larvitar and its evolved form Pupitar wandering around in the Big Bluff Cavern, which is on the right when you enter the Underground.
How To Evolve Larvitar
Larvitar evolves into its form just by the trainer raising it. At level 30 it will become a Pupitar and at level 55 it will become a Tyranitar.
Those are all the basics for getting and raising a Larvitar. Raising it can take a long time but once you do, you’ll have a powerful Rock/Dark type Pokemon that will be an invaluable unit.
