How to Get Legendary Pokémon in Cobblemon

It goes without saying, but the legendary Pokémon are fan favorites and everyone loves them, thanks to their cool designs and powerful moves. So, of course we want to catch them in the Minecraft: Java Edition mod Cobblemon, but how do you do so? Here is how to get legendary Pokémon in Cobblemon.

Getting legendary Pokémon in Cobblemon

The coolest part about any of the mainline Pokémon games is the part in the story when you encounter the legendary Pokémon featured on the box art of the game. It is the ultimate test of wits as a Trainer, and catching legendary Pokémon is such a great feeling. Can we recreate those epic battles in Cobblemon?

Well, we hate to be party poopers, but unfortunately none of the legendary Pokémon have been added to Cobblemon yet. Some legendary models can be found in the game by using spawn commands, but they do not function as real Pokémon yet. Other legendary Pokémon do not even have a working models, as indicated by the Substitute doll seen below.

This of course means that some legendary Pokémon, like Mewtwo, are definitely planned to be added into the mod, but have not quite been fully implemented yet. This is in line with the rest of the regular Pokémon, as we are still missing quite a few, but they are planned for future updates.

We do not have any exact dates on when Cobblemon will add legendary Pokémon, so we encourage you to follow the official Twitter account, @CobblemonMod, as they are constantly posting update news.

We can only assume that catching legendary Pokémon is going to be a tough task, just like in the main Pokémon games. Your best bet is to bring a Pokémon that is super effective against the legendary’s type.

It is also worth mentioning that Cobblemon is an open-source mod, which means other developers are free to take Cobblemon’s base and expand upon it in their own ways.

This effectively means that other developers can create their own versions of Cobblemon with legendary Pokémon added, but we have not found any versions of the sort.
