Log Stakes are integral bridge-building materials in the game that you won’t need until now. However, getting Log Stakes is easier said than done. So in this guide, we’ll be showing you how to get Log Stakes in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

So, after you’ve finally unlocked the ability that allows you to make and place bridges, you’re going to need Log Stakes. Getting Log Stakes in ACNH is a simple, but deceptive task in the game. Early on in the game, you’ll be given its DIY Recipe as part of a big batch of other Recipes and since they all unlock at the same time, the game never tells you that you have it.

And you won’t have a need for Log Stakes until you’ve progressed far into the game and realised they’re hidden in plain sight. As soon as you make use of DIY Workbenches, you’ll have access to the Log Stakes recipe. You can find them under the Housewares tab in the DIY Recipes book on your Nook Phone.

A single Log Stake will require 3 plain old wood to make. You can harvest these woods from trees with your trusty Axe. Afterwards, carry the materials back to the closest DIY Workbench and whip up as many Log Stakes as you need.

Log Stakes can be used early on in the game as a way of keeping your island organized, like an improvised fence. However, they don’t have regular use until you need to make your first Log Bridge. Once you’ve fully upgraded Nook’s Cranny on your island, Tom Nook will reveal that he wants to expand the population of the island, and will task you with creating a Log Bridge.

For this, you’ll need 12 Woods, 4 pieces of Clay and 4 Stones. Clay and Stones can be found by beating on rocks with your Shovel or Axe.
