Wood is a resource that you will find in most of the locations in the Hisui region. However, one of the best locations in the early game to farm Logs of Wood is the Deertrack Path and the vicinity.

The Deertrack Path is located in the Obsidian Fieldlands region. Once you arrive at the said location, keep an eye on the ground to find Logs of Wood. Once you find it, go near it and press the A button on your Nintendo Switch to collect the Wood. 

Keep in mind the Wood in the Deertrack Path respawns whenever you leave the location, so the Wood farming process becomes easier over time.
