How to Get Shaymin in Pokémon Go

Niantic usually schedules Pokémon Go Fest around a core mechanic or Pokémon with several added wrinkles to keep things fresh. The Go Fest 2022 comes with the Mythical Pokémon Shaymin as the center of attention.

Shaymin is making its Pokémon debut and, similar to previous events, Go Fest 2022 will be the sole method of obtaining Shaymin. So in this article, we’ll be guiding you on how to get Shaymin in Pokémon Go.

How to Get Shaymin in Pokémon Go

Niantic Inc. has announced that in order to get Shaymin from the Go Fest 2022, Pokémon Go trainers will have to purchase a ticket that costs $14.99. Players who have yet to buy it will still be able to enjoy Go Fest, but the Shaymin reward in particular is given to players who purchased the event ticket once they complete the Special Research that comes with the ticket.

So if you’ve yet to get your ticket, you can grab one now from the in-game shop for $14.99 and have access to the event come June 4th and 5th. Note that while it may seem easier, you’ll have to complete all of the Special Research tasks to a certain point in order to encounter Shaymin.

With enough Poke Balls, this is a guaranteed reward. Shaymin won’t be able to escape once you encounter it. While some players might err at the fact that Niantic are placing Shaymin behind a paywall, hopefully this will change in future updates. But as it stands, this is the only way to get Shaymin in Pokémon Go for now.
