How to Get Shiny Kyogre in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl feature a vast selection of Legendary Pokemon to catch, but only the most expert Pokemon trainers will be able to catch them, as players need to make quite a bit of progress to unlock Ramanas Park, where these Legendary Pokemon are located.

Among these Pokemon is Kyogre, who can also appear as a Shiny Pokemon. Here’s what you have to do to catch it.

How to Get Shiny Kyogre in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Getting a Shiny Kyogre in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl simply boils down to luck, as there is no guaranteed way to encounter one as of now. There is a trick, however, that will make getting it a little less frustrating.

For starters, you will have to unlock Kyogre in Ramanas Park by collecting Mysterious Shards in the Grand Underground and exchanging them at the park’s entrance for an Oceanic Slate. All this can only be done only after unlocking the National Dex, so you will need to complete the main story to get the chance of catching Kyogre and its Shiny variant.

Once you have the Oceanic Slate, head to the Oceanic Room in Ramanas Park. Get right in front of the pedestal and interact with it to battle Kyogre and catch it. Before you do, you should save your game right in front of this pedestal, so as to make the process of getting Shiny Kyogre a little faster.

To get Shiny Kyogre, you will have to be extremely lucky, as there is a very low chance that it will appear after using the Oceanic Slate in place of the regular Kyogre. Chances are so low that some players have tried over one hundred times but still haven’t got it, so don’t get discouraged too quickly. Make sure you are prepared if you do encounter one by bringing a high-level Pokemon, past Lv. 70, so as to prevent Kyogre’s Sheer Cold from making your Pokemon faint instantly, and having good balls like Quick and Net Balls ready to go.
