While we’re still waiting for the official release of the whole game in the summer of 2023, many players have already been exploring the partial version of Baldur’s Gate 3, available since October 2020.
If you’re determined to explore the land of Faerun, you better get some good armor because the forces of darkness are coming back. Those who want to rank up their defenses as much as possible should look beyond items available in shops, but finding the best pieces can be overwhelming.
That’s why we’ve compiled a guide on how to get the best armor in Baldur’s Gate 3 to help you find the pieces that will make a real difference in a fight.
Armor – Adamantine Splint Armor
This item belongs to the Rare Heavy Armor category, and it is great for defense. It comes with 17 AC and Intense Adamantine Backlash, which sends the melee attacker that hits you reeling for three turns.
Players can get Adamantine Splint Armor while playing The Adamantine Forge quest at Grymforge. For crafting this armor, you will need Splint Mould and Mithral Ore (both can be obtained in Grymforge).
Helmets – Headband of Intellect
This item is particularly useful for spellcasters since it increases the intelligence of the wearer to 19. The Headband of Intellect is classified as Rare, and it drops from random monsters. If you can’t get your hands on it, you can also go for Warped Headband of Intellect which brings the intelligence level to 17 and can be obtained after defeating the Ogre Mage in the Blighted Village.
Another helmet that is worth considering is the Shadow of Menzoberranzan piece of headgear (Protecting the Myconid quest), which looks cool and comes with the Shrouded in Shadow ability that makes the wearer invisible.
Boots – Disintegrating Night Walkers
Afraid of slipping in the battle? Then, equip the Disintegrating Night Walkers. Besides not slipping, your character won’t be enwebbed, ensnared, or entangled as well.
Wearers of Disintegrating Night Walkers can also teleport to a visible unoccupied space thanks to the Misty Step spell, which will prove to be quite useful in many situations.
Players can find these boots by defeating True Soul Nere in Grymforge.
Gloves – Hellrider’s Pride
Even though they smell like sulfur, when equipped, these gloves bring +1 Strength Saving Throw and work quite well on healers because they come with the Helm’s Protection effect, which makes healed creatures resistant to bludgeoning, slashing, and piercing damage.
Players can get Hellrider’s Pride gloves in Druid Grove, when they knock down and pickpocket Zevlor.
