Where to Find the Sentient Amulet in Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3)

You can find the Sentient Amulet in Baldur’s Gate 3 at the Grymforge—more specifically, near the Adamantine Forge in the Underdark. The amulet is locked away in an Adamantine Chest on a small island in the lava lake at the lower level of the forge. You need to make your way down there, and the approximate coordinates are X: -625 and Y: 225.

You can open it by using Lockpick and passing the Dexterity Check 20 or by using the key that can be found on another platform north of the chest (there’s a skeleton clutching it close to lava). When you open the chest, you will find several items, some gold, and the Sentient Amulet.

What Does the Sentient Amulet Do in Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3)?

The Sentient Amulet in Baldur’s Gate 3 is a Rare accessory that brings Shatter (Level 2 Evocation Spell) and Ki Restoration (Class Action). However, the more important part is that you can talk to it and reveal that the amulet has been possessed by the ghost of a cursed monk. If you talk to the amulet i.e. to the cursed monk that appears, you will start the side quest called Help the Cursed Monk.

To be precise, you may have already received the hints about this side quest if you’ve read the journals of a Dark Justiciar which point to an amulet of great power that was cast into lava. In any case, finding the Sentient Amulet will progress this quest, but you won’t be able to finish it until you get to Act III and reach Open Hand Temple at Wyrm’s Crossing.
