Terraria is an action-adventure sandbox game developed by Re-Logic. The game was first released for Microsoft Windows on May 16, 2011, and has since been ported to several other platforms, including Nintendo Switch. The game features exploration, crafting, building, painting, and combat with a variety of creatures in a procedurally generated 2D world.
One of the things that makes Terraria so fun is the existence of several different kinds of biomes. Today we will be talking about a specific biome: The Underground Hallow.
Underground Hallow
The Underground Hallow is a dangerous biome. It is the underground version of the surface-level Hallow and appears in the Cavern layer.
The Underground Hallow operates similarly to the surface Hallow, being comprised of Pearlstone and Pearlsand, but it spawns different enemies and also spawns Crystal Shards. Gelatin Crystals to summon Queen Slime can also be found here.
The Underground Hallow spreads just like its surface counterpart, The Hallow, and similarly will conflict with Corruption and Crimson, as well as their underground variants.
Getting to Underground Hallow
Getting here is possible only in Hardmode. It is one of the biomes that spawns after the Wall of Flesh is defeated and generally ends up spawning just above the area where the Wall of Flesh is beaten.
Monsters that die within the Underground Hallow have a chance to drop Souls of Light. This applies to both monsters unique to this biome, as well as any from other biomes that may happen to wander into it.
Unlike most biomes, the Underground Hallow features two new Hardmode enemies exclusive to the biome, namely Dissonance Seer and Spectrumite. Upon defeat, they drop the Rod of Discord and Crystal Shards respectively.
