Beornings in Lord of the Rings: Rise to War is a special unit. It means that you can’t recruit them with the standard building of your faction. In order to get the opportunity to hire beornings, you will need to take over the tile of land with their special structure. It is called Beorning Camp and you can find a few of them in Eastern Ered Mithrin and Central Mirkwood. So, if you play as Lothlorien elves, Erebor dwarves, or Rohan it is going to be easy for you to capture a camp and get access to hire beornings.

These units are pretty strong, but demand a lot of gold to be hired. Make sure you are ready to spend this recourse on recruitment after you take over their camp as you may need some gold to upgrade your faction units.
