Hogwarts Legacy is finally available to purchase and play on PlayStation 5, PC and Xbox Series X|S consoles. And like so many other open-world games with lots of areas to explore, there are various side quests throughout this new magical adventure game that takes place in the acclaimed Harry Potter universe.
Over the first couple of hours of gameplay, you learn basic spells and explore some parts of Hogwarts. These spells come in handy when trying to defeat enemies, because there are lots of characters to meet throughout the game. And in this guide, you can figure out how to learn all three Unforgivable Curses in Hogwarts Legacy.
How to learn all three Unforgivable Curses in Hogwarts Legacy
It takes a while, but eventually you progress to a point in the game where you stumble upon the Unforgivable Curses—which, if not used carefully, could be your doom. The three Unforgivable Curses are: Avada Kedavra (The Killing Curse), Crucio (The Cruciatus Curse), and Imperio (The Imperius Curse).
Avada Kedavra — The Killing Curse
This is a powerful spell that can one-shot any enemy and kill them instantly. You can get it through one of the most intellectually interesting characters you meet in the game, which is Sebastian.
If you continually do his quests, you get to a specific one that leads you to find the Avada Kedava spell, a quest called “In The Shadow of The Relic,” which you must be at level 28 to unlock. In the quest, you make your way to a cave that’s filled with Inferi. Upon fighting a particular enemy, you’ll be rewarded with the Avada Kedavra killing spell.
Crucio — The Cruciatus Curse
This is a spell that can torture your enemies and cause them to lose their health in the middle of a fight. To acquire it, you have to complete Sebastian’s “In the Shadow of the Study” mission, where you’ll be accompanied by Ominis Gaunt and Sebastian to find out what happened to Noctua Gaunt.
Collectively, all three of you go to Slytherin’s Scriptorium, and on this journey, you find a door that won’t open unless an unforgivable spell is used. After doing that, you will acquire the Crucio spell.
Imperio — The Imperius Curse
With this spell, you can take control of your enemies in battle. To get Imperio, Sebastian once again takes you on a mission, this time titled “In The Shadows Of Time,” where you both make your way to Feldcroft. Later on, in this same quest, you enter a crypt where you can find an ancient relic, which will then give you the Imperio spell.
