Creepers are one of the most iconic Minecraft mobs. Since created due to a bug, creepers have become a mascot for the popular sandbox game. Its fame comes from sneaking behind players and killing them by exploding.
Creepers drop gunpowder after dying in Minecraft. Creepers can spawn almost everywhere in the Overworld if the light level is zero. Players can create creeper farms to obtain tons of gunpowder.
How to Make a Creeper Farm in Minecraft
For some reason, creepers are scared of cats and run away from them. Players can use these adorable feline creatures to push creepers into a killing chamber. Creeper farms are similar to classic mob tower farms.
We will be following Minecraft YouTuber Jumper’s creeper farm design for this build tutorial. Creeper farms should be simple if you have some experience building mob farms. We have a build tutorial for mob tower farm if you haven’t made one ever.

To build a creeper farm, you will first have to create a killing chamber. Place campfires on top of hoppers connected to chests. Gunpowder dropped by creepers will get collected into chests.
Once the system is ready, you can start building a spawning platform for the farm. Create a chute that will drop creepers on campfires. On top of the tube, create an area to funnel creepers into the hole using water.
After the funnelling system is ready, create platforms for spawning creepers. You will have to use trap doors and buttons to allow only creeper spawning. You will also have to bring cats to scare creepers and make them fall into the killing chamber.
A Creeper farm is not an easy project. Players can watch the above creeper farm tutorial video by Jumper. It is a stackable design, allowing players to improve the farm’s efficiency by adding more layers easily.
