Mining works a little bit differently in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life. Instead of exploring a deep cavern for special gems, you dig in an archive for things like old coins and fossils, which can either be sold to Van or given as gifts to the villagers. There are no monsters or anything like that, it’s very simple like the rest of the game. As time goes on, the dig site will become larger and larger, allowing you to find more things. This is how to mine in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life.

The dig site is located pretty close to your farm. When you exit the property, make a left on the forest path and go to the end. To the right, you’ll see a rock in the river that allows you to cross. You’ll now come to the dig site, where you’ll meet archaeologists Carter and adorable Flora. (Who you can’t marry by the way. Sad face.)
They’re working to excavate treasures from the dig site which could be beneficial to help learn about the land’s history. After the introduction, Carter will tell you that you’re welcome to help out there anytime.
You have to go down into the dig site when Carter is there and speak to him. Every day, he and Flora will go to the dig site around 9 am. At 10, you can talk to him to start digging and he’ll give you a shovel. Dig in the highlighted squares on the ground to find various artifacts.
If nothing comes up, you can dig in the spot again and there’s a chance something may show up. You can keep anything you find unless it’s a tablet or specific artifact, in which case Carter will take it off your hands. It’s a fun part of your routine that lets you have easy money and unique presents.
You can collect all of the treasures today in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life!
