How to Open All Fourth and Fifth Kalpa Doors in Shin Megami Tensei III HD Remaster

The Labyrinth of Amala is among the most iconic dungeons found in Shin Megami Tensei III HD Remaster. This optional dungeon is rather challenging, putting players’ knowledge of the mechanics and their skills to test right from the very first Kalpa. Things obviously become even more challenging as the Demi-Fiend moves through the different Kalpa areas, but at least he is rewarded with some useful items that can help him take down the many powerful story bosses he encounters. Most of these rewards, however, are hidden behind special doors.

How to Open All Fourth and Fifth Kalpa Doors in Shin Megami Tensei III HD Remaster

Fourth Kalpa

The Fourth Kalpa only includes a single locked door in the second basement level and no real reward. This door can only be accessed by using a special path found in the Third Kalpa and needs a special Star Key that can only be obtained by beating Beelzebub. Once you open the door, you will find a switch that unlocks the Fifth Kalpa.

Fifth Kalpa

The Fifth Kalpa features multiple locked doors, and they are somewhat complicated to unlock. The first one you will encounter is on the second basement level, and it will always open automatically. To access the Cache Cubes and Mystical Chests in the room to the east, however, you will need a demon’s heart, so you will have to get started on the True Demon path, as you will need to speak with Lucifer at the bottom of the Labyrinth of Amala to get the heart.

The locked doors in the fourth basement level are somewhat trickier to open. The doors you will find in this area will require you to present a demon with a 25 value in Strength, Magic, and Vitality, and a 20 value in Luck. The remaining three doors will only open if you present a Pixie, which will level up to Level 80 once the door opens, a Metatron, and a Beelzebub. If you present the wrong demon at any of these doors, the demon will die and you will be sent to the start of the fourth basement level.
