Nintendo is releasing their DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which has grown to be the best-selling Switch game with over 43.35 million copies sold as of writing this article.
If you’re a Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pass + subscriber, then Nintendo has some very good news for you. As you already know, this week sees the release of the brand new Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC, which features the new Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass that is launching in six different parts, beginning with Wave 1 on March 18.
How to Play Mario Kart 8 DLC Early
While you can purchase the DLC from the Nintendo eShop, Expansion Pass + subscribers can access each wave at no extra cost as part of their membership. Better yet, subscribers are currently able to pre-load the first wave of content, ready for the March 18 release date. This means that subscribers will be able to try out the new Mario Kart DLC content before everyone else can. Nintendo Switch Online games often update at 11 pm EDT US Time, although it’s possible the DLC will launch earlier than expected.
Booster Course Pass can be played from March 18th locally or online in Friends and Rivals races, even if only one player owns the Booster Course Pass or has access to it as part of a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership. From March 22nd, courses from wave 1 will also appear in the Random selection when playing Global or Regional races with anyone online.
