The Mario Golf: Super Rush main single-player mode, the Golf Adventure mode, is a sort of RPG-meets-golf play mode where your Mii character will have to complete a variety of different challenges to become a true master of the sport. Among these challenges is a very interesting one that can only be played on the Ridgerock Lake course. This challenge is called XC Golf, and it features a unique set of rules that will put your golfing skills to the test.
Here are some useful tips to become a master at XC Golf in Mario Golf: Super Rush.
How to Play XC Golf in Mario Golf: Super Rush
XC Golf, also known as Cross Country Golf, is a unique challenge type found in Golf Adventure mode where you are tasked with clearing 3, 6, or 9 holes in any order but with a set number of strokes, 20, 30, and 40 respectively. Even though the holes can be cleared in any order, a sound strategy is needed, considering the unique layout of the Ridgerock Lake course, which is the only course where XC Golf is available.
Although you can use any type of equipment in XC Golf and succeed, there are a few items that will make your life easier. The essential item to have is the Range Finder, which is used to determine the distance between you and a target: as you need to use as few strokes as possible, using this item will help you come up with a solid strategy. As far as clubs are concerned, the Piranha Plant Approach Wedge and Super Mushroom Driver are recommended, as the first will make it easier to take advantage of tornadoes, while the second makes it easier to get topspins to cover greater distances.
Once the right equipment has been picked up, you can start thinking about a strategy. Generally, it’s always better to move into straight lines to avoid wasting strokes trying to get to the closest hole. Additionally, you will need to use plenty of curved shots to avoid all the obstacles found in the course: a shot gone wrong in XC Shot often means defeat, given the course’s unique layout.
