Here’s everything you need to know about the Polishing Design Skill and why you should polish furniture as much as you can.

How to Polish Furniture in Animal Crossing: New Horizons Happy Home Paradise

To be able to polish furniture, first, you will have to make some progress in the Happy Home Paradise expansion, and design your fifth home while working for Paradise Planning. The skill will be upgraded after you design your 12th home, allowing you to access the Effect Menu to add new visual effects to the objects you polish.

After you have designed your fifth vacation home, you will be able to polish furniture at will in vacation homes and in your house on the main island. To polish furniture, press the L button to enter Cleaning Mode, approach any furniture and then press the A button. You can make your polishing more effective by holding the A button. Once you are done, you will know the object has been polished thanks to different visual effects.

If you are not satisfied with your polishing job, all you need to do is approach the polished furniture again and press A to remove the effect. Animal Crossing: New Horizons Happy Home Paradise is all about improving your home designing skills, after all, so a mistake or two along the way is to be expected!
