How to Preorder Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

The next generation of Pokémon games have just been announced and will be making their way to Nintendo Switch in late 2022. Revealed during “Pokémon Presents” on Pokémon Day (February 27), Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet will feature three new Generation 9 starter Pokemon and a new region. Both of the new mainline series Generation 9 games are now available for pre-order on Amazon and Walmart.

Pokemon Violet – Preorder

As of now, these are the only two sellers that are letting fans pre-order Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet. Currently, there are no pre-order bonuses or special editions of the game available. Once they do become available, we will be sure to roll out that info.

The two new games developed by Game Freak which are kicking off Generation Nine of the Pokemon franchise are also expected to boast an open world that expands on that of Pokemon Legends: Arceus. The teaser reveals new Spanish-inspired cities alongside rich, Mediterranean-looking countrysides where, according to The Pokemon Company, “Pokemon can be seen everywhere… in the skies, in the sea, and on the streets.”

The company describes both Nintendo Switch exclusives as “a new evolutionary step” where “trainers can explore an open world where various towns with no borders blend seamlessly into the wilderness.” This is very exciting, as it probably means that border which served as loading zones and barriers from keeping the Pokemon games truly open-world will now be removed, giving Pokemon fans a Pokemon-catching experience they have truly never experienced before.
