Pokémon Legends: Arceus was released last month after much fanfare and hype. It is the latest installment in the Pokémon series and takes a much different turn than its predecessors do in terms of storytelling and game mechanics.
The game takes place in the ancient Hisui region, which would become modern-day Sinnoh. Fighting and capturing Pokémon is drastically different with battles taking place on the overworld instead of turn-based instance battles, as was the staple of the series thus far.
The game introduces quite a few new ideas to the franchise, but one of the game’s most compelling features is terrain traversal and the variety of ways the player can do this via riding different types of Pokémon. This feature has changed the aspect of navigation in the Pokémon series as we know it!
Mounts
Pokémon Legends: Arceus introduces mounts to the game. They are a few Pokémon unique to the game that the player can ride on to traverse places faster or to go to places they normally could not without one.
The game has five different mounts to choose from, each with its own advantages:
- Wyrdeer
- Ursaluna
- Sneasler
- Braviary
- Basculegion
Note that players will not be able to use mounts until after completing the main story quest named “The Frenzy of the Lord of the Woods”. Completing this mission will unlock the Celestica flute that allows players to summon a mount of their choosing.
Today we will discuss how to use Basculegion as a mount.
Basculegion Mount
Basculegion is a water-based mount whose abilities will certainly come in handy once the player unlocks it. To unlock Basculegion, the player will need to catch a Dusclops for Iscan. After using Dusclops’ Shadow Ball attack to cook food for the Basculegion, it will be friendly enough for the player to meet, feed, and finally, summon the mount.
The player can summon Basculegion near any body of water. Like Wyrdeer, Basculegion can dash with the B button and jump with the Y button.
Happy hunting!
