Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream may not be a massive role-playing game, or a particularly challenging one, but this doesn’t mean that you do not need to save your game often.

When it comes to saving your game, Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream feels closer to older role-playing games than modern ones, as you can only create a manual save at a specific location. Here’s where.

How to Save in Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream

In Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream, you cannot save your game any time you want, as you will have to be in a specific location to do so. This location is one where you will often head to during your adventure: Sophie’s Atelier.

Inside the Atelier, you will find a desk with a book on it. By interacting with the book, you will be able to save the game in any of the available slots and even load a previous save if you so desire.

While creating manual saves this way is recommended in Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream due to a variety of reasons, you are not forced to do so if you do not wish to return to the Atelier ever so often. The game does feature an auto-save system, so your progress will be saved automatically every now and then. The frequency of auto-saving, however, is not as high as it is in other games, so it is still a good idea to make a manual save if you feel like you are approaching a challenging fight.
