Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy may look like a straightforward action-adventure game on the surface, but it actually hides a surprising amount of depth, especially in its combat system. If you thought that just pressing the attack button would be enough to make it out alive from most fights, you will be surprised to learn that this isn’t exactly the case.
Here’s how to Stagger bigger enemies in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and why you should do it.
How to Stagger Enemies in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy
Smaller enemies in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy can be damaged and defeated with regular attacks and any abilities, but some enemies, like bigger regular mobs and bosses, take very little damage in their regular state. To damage these enemies, you will need to Stagger them.
You will know when an enemy can be staggered by looking at the interface while in combat: enemies that can be staggered have an additional bar below the health bar. Once it is filled, the enemy will be staggered and it will receive more damage from all attacks and abilities.
To fill the Stagger Bar, you will need to use abilities that deal Stagger damage. All characters have at least one ability that can deal Stagger Damage, namely their third ability, but Drax can deal Stagger damage with all of his, making him the go-to character to Stagger enemies.
While the Stagger mechanics featured in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy do sound a little complicated on paper, they are easy to understand once you stagger a few enemies. Take advantage of these mechanics as much as you can to take down all sorts of enemies, and save the galaxy!
