How to Stay Warm in LEGO Fortnite

Learn how to stay warm even in the coldest weather conditions in Lego Fortnite.

Despite its vibrancy and colorfulness, the world of LEGO Fortnite is dangerous, and you’ll need to prepare to survive. Some parts of the world are very cold, so here’s how to stay warm in LEGO Fortnite.

Tips for Staying Warm in Lego Fortnite

In Lego Fortnite, your player HUD at the top left corner of the screen tells you all the vital information about your current status, including your health, hunger, and of course temperature.

Your current body temperature is indicated by the colored bar below your character portrait. When the arrow is in the middle of the bar, your temperature is just fine. If you enter areas with harsh weather conditions, the arrow sways to one side, letting you know that the temperature is getting to you.

If your character is too cold or hot, you’ll start losing health. The more severe the temperature, the faster your health drains. Since the cold areas of Lego Fortnite tend to be larger than the other biomes, we’ll give you tips on staying warm.

By the way, Knotroot is a commonly used resource in the game. If you’re looking for it, check out our guide on how to get Knotroot in LEGO Fortnite for more details.

Using Torches & Campfires to Stay Warm

First off, Torches give off a small amount of warmth when held. Torches are readily available, only requiring some Wood and Vines and a Crafting Bench to make. You can even put Torches in your offhand slot to free up your main hand, so you can use a weapon or tool with a Torch out.

If you want a somewhat more permanent solution to your cold weather issues, you can build Campfires using only 3 Wood. Campfires give off a moderate amount of warmth when you’re nearby, making them invaluable for cold-weather villages.

Using Food & Equipment to Stay Warm

Certain foods like the Spicy Pepper and Spicy Burger provide cold resistance when eaten. Spicy Peppers can be found readily in Dry Valley biomes, so it’s in your best interest to seek one out before venturing into the Frostlands.

The Spicy Pepper provides cold resistance for 2 minutes, but cook it on the Grill with Meat and Flour to make a Spicy Burger, which gives a whopping 10 minutes worth of cold resistance.

There’s a single piece of equipment called the Inner Fire Charm that provides you with a large amount of cold resistance for as long as you have it equipped. Two versions of it can be crafted at the Crafting Bench.

  • Inner Fire Charm (Rare): Wool Thread x 3, Cut Ruby x 5, Brightcore x 8, Blast Core x 3
  • Inner Fire Charm (Epic): Heavy Wool Thread x 3, Brightcore x 30, Blast Core x 10, Frost Brute Scale x 1

Most of these resources can be found within the Lava Caves in Dry Valley biomes, naturally. Regular Wool can be obtained off of Sheep, but the Heavy Wool can only be found inside random chests in Snow Caves.

The hardest resource to get from this list is probably the Frost Brute Scale, as you’ll need to venture into the Frostlands and find a Frost Brute, a rare mob spawn. Finding them is half the battle, as they’re very tough and can kill you quickly if you’re unprepared.
