How to Stop Kelvin from Destroying Your Base in Sons of the Forest

In Sons of the Forest, you can stop your partner Kelvin from destroying your base by turning off the Structure Damage option from the Options menu, Gameplay tab. Once that is done, even if Kelvin tries to destroy your base by cutting trees or other such actions, he won’t be able to destroy it.

Apart from that, during the early game, when Kelvin was about to destroy our Treehouse, we found that if you go to him and quickly give him another order, it will override the current one, saving your base. 

So, let’s say you have given an order to Kelvin, and he tries to fulfill it but is destroying your base. Go near him, hold the ‘E’ button, and then use the ‘W,’ ‘A,’ ‘S,’ and ‘D’ keys to navigate the order list and give him another order.

However, not everyone prefers keeping tabs on Kelvin after giving an order, as there are more pressing matters that you can look into while playing Sons of the Forest. And that is why we recommend using the first option, disabling Structure Damage. 

If you don’t know how to do that, it is straightforward. Just follow the below steps:

• Open Sons of the Forest; 
• Click on Options; 
• If you are already in the game, press the ‘ESC’ button and select Options from the bottom menu;
• Navigate to the third tab that says “Gameplay;”
• Click on the arrows to turn off “Structure Damage” found within the Gameplay section of the menu; 
• Click on Apply.
