Using the different Trade options, you can share Pokémon and useful items with the online community, their friends, or even strangers.

How to Unlock Trade Option in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl 

Before you can start trading with local or global players in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, you have to unlock the trade feature by defeating the Gym Leader Roark. Once that is done, you will unlock the trade feature in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. 

How to Trade With Friends in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Assuming you have unlocked the Trade feature, here is a step-by-step guide on how to Trade with Friends in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

Step 1) Go to Pokémon center 

Step 2) Take the stairs found on the left

Step 3) Talk to the woman in the middle counter

Step 4) You will now be presented with three options:

  • Yes – Select to trade with online players 
  • Yes, with a Link Code – Select to join a group with your friend using their link code
  • Yes, with my group – Select to join a group that you previously created

Save your game and select Yes.

Step 5) Depending on the scenario, select any of the three options

Step 6) Next, you will find yourself in Union Room. Now press the Y key on your Nintendo Switch and select the Call option 

Step 7) Now select the Trade option

Step 8) Go and interact with your Friend’s character[with whom you want to do trade]

Step 9) Select Yes when asked if you want to trade

Step 10) Now you will find yourself on the Trading screen. Select the Pokémon you want to trade

Step 11) Select Trade it 

Step 12) Once both parties are satisfied with the trade, select “Trade it” once more to confirm the trade

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are currently available on the Nintendo Switch platform.
