Super Mario Party was the first Mario Party game released for the Nintendo Switch. It brought the series into modern times with a cast of your favorite Mario characters, and of course a bunch of new minigames to try! Today, we’ll show you how to unlock all minigames in Super Mario Party!

Unlocking Every Minigame in Super Mario Party

When you first boot up Super Mario Party, you can jump right into any of the four modes: Mario Party, Partner Party, River Survival, and Sound Stage.

Most players start out with Mario Party, as it’s the mode that resembles the earlier Mario Party games the closest, but you can choose anything you like.

Each mode has its own set of minigames. There are three types of minigame: 4-player free-for-alls, 3-on-1 battles, and 2-on-2 team battles.

There are lots of minigames unlocked right off the bat, but you probably noticed that when the roulette is spinning, there are some games marked as ???.

Unlocking these mystery games is completely random—there’s nothing else to it. You just have to hope that the roulette stops on the locked games. Once you play a locked game for the first time, it’ll be available for free play in the Minigames mode.

Keep in mind that there are a few minigames that are exclusive to some modes. For example, the River Survival mode has three minigames that can only be played in that mode, so you’ll need to play every mode to unlock all minigames.

To help you keep track of the minigames you have yet to unlock, play the Minigames mode from the plaza. Move your cursor over any of the locked games, then press the top button to see which mode it is in.

You can even sort the minigames by type, so if you’re looking for a specific 2-on-2 or 3-on-1 game, you can narrow it down using the sorting option.

And that’s it! To unlock a specific minigame, just keep playing that mode until you get lucky and the roulette picks it. Depending on your luck, this may take a few tries, so don’t get too frustrated!
