Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition may not feature as many collectibles as other modern role-playing games do, but the ones it does feature allow you to customize the experience in some interesting ways.
Among the collectibles found in the game are window frames which can be used to customize how the dialogue windows look. Here’s where to find all of them.
How to Unlock All Window Frames in Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition
Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition features 15 different window frames that can be switched out via the options menu. Of these, only three are available at the start of the game, and every other has to be unlocked.

Infrared Vision | Recruit Radius, then explore Another World’s Fossi Valley to find it in a chest |
Monster’s Mouth | Talk with the cat in the kitchen of the S.S. Zelbess ship after you have been turned into a cat. |
Our Favorite Martian | Recruit Starky, get the Star Fragment from the El Nido Triangle in Home World, and then interact with the empty chest on Sky Dragon Isle. You’ll get the frame after defeating the enemy. |
Porre’s Furnace | Inside Another World’s Viper Manor, you can discover a secret room behind the desk in the library after leaving Guldove for the first time |
Quill and Papyrus | After getting Serge back to his own body and restoring Marbule in Home World, head to Another World’s Marbule. Inside the Black Dragon’s Den, you will find Toma XIV, who will give you the frame. |
Shellfish | Interact with the shopkeeper’s cart in Arni Village in Home World |
Skullduggery | Feed the Quaffid in the Shadow Forest in Another World a red blob with the Aroma Pouch |
Snakes and Orbs | Defeat the enemy hiding in the trees in Gaea’s Navel in Another World |
Tea for Three | Talk with an invisible man located to the left of the statue of Viper in Termina in Another World, and respond with “Understood” |
Tropical Paradise | Obtained automatically if you decide not to help Kid |
Valencian Cloth | Obtained by visiting Marbule with a party of demi-humans or non-humans. As such, it can only be obtained while Serge is in Lynx’s body or on New Game Plus |
