There are four different types of chest in Hello Kitty Island Adventure: regular chests, locked chests, golden chests, and coral chests. The coral chests cannot be opened at first, though, so you may be wondering how these pretty chests can be unlocked to reveal the treasure inside. Let’s explore how to unlock Coral Chests in Hello Kitty Island Adventure!
How to open Coral Chests in Hello Kitty Island Adventure
Before you can get to the area you need to be in, you need to be able to swim and scuba dive. This means learning both skills and increasing your stamina so you can dive for longer. Only then can you proceed to the next quest.
Coral Chests are found around the coast and in the water, but they are locked with a special key: the Coral Key. To get these chests open, you must first complete the Reef Revival quest and unlock the Recycling Plant. The Recycling Plant is found under the water, and the only person who knows what it is for is Keroppi. Make sure you level up the friendship with him first and get to the point where you can complete the Reef Revival quest along with Hello Kitty.

Keroppi explains that the Recycling Plant can accept any found trash or unwanted items and exchange them for rewards. Gather as much rubbish as you can in the ocean and take it to the plant. As you approach the Recycling Plant, you see a recycle icon pop up; tap it, then tap up to ten pieces of trash or other unwanted things, and recycle them.
The more pieces of rubbish you recycle, the better your reward will be. Rewards include Coral Spores, Dye Pouches, and Coral Keys, which can open ocean-themed Coral Chests full of extra special rewards. Find these chests all around the coast and in the water in Hello Kitty Island Adventure!
