Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX

How to Unlock Dragon in Monster Rancher 2 DX

Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX both feature a vast selection of monster breeds to unlock, but the second game wins hands down when it comes to this, featuring way more breeds. Unlocking all of them takes considerably longer, but it is also way more satisfying, making the game way more engaging than its predecessor.

Here’s how to unlock one of the game’s best monster breeds, the Dragon breed.

How to Unlock Dragon in Monster Rancher 2 DX

To unlock the Dragon breed in Monster Rancher 2 DX, you will have to make quite a bit of progress in the story, as you will first need to reach Breeder Rank 6. Breeder Rank increases as you win tournaments and progress in the main campaign, so the only way to increase it is by playing the game normally. You will also need to have a Rank B monster and the first stable upgrade, and you will have to participate in at least one Ima vs. FIMBA event. You do not need to win it, just taking part once will be enough.

After all of these conditions have been met, you will receive an invitation to the Dragon Invitational on July 1. The tournament will take place on August 2, and you will have to defeat Lagirus to receive the Dragon’s Tusk, which must be used as an item when combining monsters to unlock the Dragon breed.
