How to Unlock Joker in Monster Rancher 2 DX

Both Monster Rancher 1 DX and Monster Rancher 2 DX feature a very unique monster generation system that allows players to create monsters by using music CDs. Not all monsters are available from the start of the games, so you will need to put in some effort to be able to generate the most interesting monsters.

Here’s how to unlock one of the breeds in Monster Rancher 2 DX, the Joker breed.

How to Unlock Joker in Monster Rancher 2 DX

To unlock the Joker breed in Monster Rancher 2 DX, like for a few other unlockable breeds in the game, you will first have to find a special item and then use it when combining two monsters.

To unlock the Joker breed, you will need to get the Mask, which can only be obtained during the Kawrea Volcano Expedition. To unlock this Expedition, you will first have to have completed the first Kawrea Expedition and have a monster at Rank B or above with 280 or more Life, and 50 or more Fame. Once the requirements have been met, you will be invited to the expedition on the first week of June.

The Mask can be found by searching the Burned Altar during the expedition. To reach it, head forward at the start of the expedition until you get to X:0, Y:5, go to the right until X:2, Y:5 then go left towards the hidden path. Here, turn right at X:2, Y:13, proceed to X:4, Y:13, turn left and continue straight to destroy two obstacles. Continue following the path until X:2, Y:24, and then head to the right to reach the Burned Altar. You are not guaranteed to find the Mask every time you search the Altar, so make sure to send a monster with very high Intelligence to this expedition.

Once you have obtained the mask, all you need to do is use it when combining two monsters to unlock the Joker breed.
