Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster

How to Unlock New Game Plus in Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster

There are many things that make role-playing games such great games to play, but nothing can beat the feeling of getting more and more powerful and take down the most powerful enemies and bosses. All the hard work gone into grinding for experience points is often lost at the end of a game, but many games feature a New Game Plus mode that lets you carry over progress to a new playthrough. Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster is no different in this regard.

How to Unlock New Game Plus in Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster

To unlock New Game Plus in Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster, all you need to do is complete the game. Any ending will do, so don’t worry about going for the challenging True Demon ending on your first playthrough. Once you win the final bass and see the credits roll, you will be asked to make a Clear Game Save.

By loading this save, you will be able to start a New Game Plus playthrough. Make sure you do not delete or overwrite this save file, as there is no other way to access the mode without it.

What Carries Over in New Game Plus?

A few elements automatically carry over to a New Game Plus playthrough. Your total playtime is among them, allowing you to keep track of how much time in total you have spent playing the game.

All the demons that have joined you in the first playthrough will be available for summoning once again as soon as you get the chance to access the Cathedral of Shadows for the first time, as the Demon Compendium carries over. You will still need Macca to summon demons, so you probably won’t be able to get your end-game demons right away.

In a New Game Plus you also get to choose between new equipment that grants stats bonuses. If you pick the Hooded Jacket, you will get a 2 Strength bonus and a 1 Vitality bonus, while the Leather Jacket will grant you a 2 Magic bonus and a 1 Agility bonus. The chosen equipment doesn’t change the Demi-Fiend’s appearance beyond the prologue.

Unfortunately, this is everything that is carried over in a New Game Plus playthrough. Level, Magatama, learned skills and Macca do not carry over. If Dante or Raidou joined your party, you will also have to recruit them again as well.
