It’s important to keep up appearances even in the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse, am I right? Therefore, upgrading your Homestead in Undawn is a must. All jokes aside, getting your shelter to the next level in this survival game will be crucial for your success (and success in this game means staying alive, just so we’re clear).
A Homestead in Undawn serves for protection and it gives you a place to use all kinds of useful production facilities, but it also puts a cap on your max EXP level. If you want to level up your character, you will need to improve your Homestead as well, and we wholeheartedly recommend prioritizing this whenever possible. If you’re not sure what you need to do, we explain everything you need to know about how to upgrade your Homestead in Undawn in this handy guide.

How to Upgrade Your Homestead in Undawn
To upgrade your Homestead in Undawn, you will need to go there and interact with the Estate Management signpost at the front gate. You should see a small pop-up that says Homestead management when you approach it. Once you open the management menu, there should be a big yellow Upgrade sign in the upper part of the tab, next to your shelter’s current level.
You will need to meet several requirements for each upgrade of your Homestead in Undawn. These change based on the level, and they become more challenging as you progress—of course. For example, your character will need to reach a certain level, your homestead will need to have a rating above a specific threshold, and you will need to gather certain resources to proceed with the upgrade.
As you level up your Homestead, you will unlock more and more useful options (and some neat decorative items to make it look more cozy). However, the most important part is that, by upgrading your Homestead, you won’t risk wasting any EXP as you approach the current cap level.
