How To use amiibo in Miitopia

Miitopia is all about customizing your own Mii to become a true and proper hero, but those who own amiibo figures have more options at their disposal, as they can unlock some extra costumes that cannot be unlocked in any other way. Sure, amiibo figures cost money, so they essential works as DLC, but if you’re heavily into Miitopia, it will be money well spent.

Here’s how to use amiibo in Miitopia, and what they unlock.

How To Use amiibo in Miitopia

To scan any amiibo figure you own, you will have to play the game until you meet the Nintendo Fan NPC, who is easily recognizable by the Super Mario costume. Speaking with the character will allow you to start scanning figures.

All amiibo currently available on the market can be scanned, but only once, and they will grant you different rewards. All Nintendo series-related amiibo figures will unlock new costumes, ranging from Mario, Luigi, Peach, Rosalina, Yoshi, Samus costumes to Animal Crossing and Splatoon outfits. All third-party amiibo, like the Bayonetta, Ryu, and Cloud Strife figures, do not give out a costume when scanned, but only three Game Tickets that can be used to play some mini-games like the Roulette. Please note that amiibo cards do not work at all.

All obtained costumes can either be equipped in the character’s armor slot or cosmetic slot. We suggest you equip them in the second if you are past the game’s first area, as all costumes’ armor rating is 15, which is pretty low once you are past the very early game.
