How to Use Elevator in Only Up!

Learn how to use the new assistance elevator in Only Up!

Since its release back in May, Only Up! quickly became infamous due to its rage-inducing game play loop. As the name implies, your only way forward is straight up into the sky, but the smallest mistake could cost you hours upon hours of progress. To make the game a little more forgiving and approachable, the developers added a new elevator that helps out a lot. Here is how to use the elevator in Only Up!

Using the new elevator in Only Up!

Finding the new helpful elevator in Only Up! is very easy. At the very start of the game, go down the steps and then turn to your left to see the normal start sign. Ignore the direction the sign points you in, and go past it instead, turning to your left.

If you remember before this update, there used to be a large empty space here, but now there is a conspicuous elevator surrounded by wrecked cars. Step onto the elevator platform, and it will begin to move automatically. The elevator moves at a somewhat slow pace, so sit back and enjoy the view.

The elevator takes you all the way up to the midway platform in the sky with the winners stand, right before the elevator that takes you above the clouds, effectively skipping the first half of the entire game. If you want an easy way to get up to the clouds, the elevator is the way to go.

There is no shame in using the elevator if you are tired of falling over and over again during the early parts of the game. As you probably already know, Only Up! can get very frustrating, so feel free to resort to the elevator if you need to. The second half of the game is still very challenging, so there are plenty of obstacles and hardship to overcome.
