Guide to using Mystic Artes in Tales of Symphonia Remastered

Mystic Artes are powerful and flashy Artes that each character can use in Tales of Symphonia Remastered. Every character has a special activation cut-in graphic whenever they use their Mystic Artes.

Every character in Tales of Symphonia Remastered must meet certain conditions specific to them before they can use their Mystic Arte. We’ll go over each character in the game here.

Lloyd Irving

After the events at the Tower of Salvation, you’ll reach Derris Kharlan as a part of the main story, and Lloyd receives the Eternal Swordsman title. A little later on, after a certain boss fight, you’ll also earn the Material Blade weapon for Lloyd.

Equip the Material Blade on Lloyd. You don’t need the Eternal Swordsman title equipped, you just have to own it. During battle, be in critical health (Lloyd’s HP counter will be red), then press and hold your Arte, guard, and attack buttons all at the same time to activate Falcon’s Crest, a powerful area attack.

Falcon’s Crest can only be used once per battle, and no high level spells can be active on the field, otherwise Falcon’s Crest will fail to activate.

Colette Brunel

Colette must cast both Holy Song and Judgment at least 50 times each. After you’ve done this, any time Colette casts either Holy Song or Judgment, she may randomly cast Holy Judgment instead, which is a combination of both spells!

Genis Sage

Genis must cast his advanced technical lightning spell, Indignation, at least 50 times. Once you’ve done this, cast Indignation while Genis is in Over Limit, and he will cast Indignation Judgment instead, an extremely powerful lighting spell.

Raine Sage

Raine has two Mystic Artes: Fairy Circle and Sacred Light.

For Fairy Circle, Raine must cast Revitalize at least 100 times. Cast Revitalize while Raine is in Over Limit, and she will cast Fairy Circle instead, a massive party heal.

For Sacred Light, Raine must cast Ray or Holy Lance at least 100 times. Cast either spell while Rain is in Over Limit, and she will cast Sacred Light instead, a holy spell that attacks all enemies on the field.

Sheena Fujibayashi

Sheena is an interesting case, as her summon spells are considered to be her Mystic Artes. As usual, Sheena can only use these summon spells while she’s in Over Limit.

Each summon pertains to the main elements encountered throughout the game. They deal powerful elemental damage, so make sure to use the summon spirit with the element your target is weak to.

Kratos Aurion

Kratos’ Mystic Arte, Holy Binds, has an intriguing requirement: Lloyd must not be equipped with the Material Blade, or he must not participate in the battle at all.

Once Kratos is in Over Limit and his HP is critical, all you have to do is press and hold the attack, Arte, and guard buttons all at the same time until Holy Binds activates.

Zelos Wilder

Zelos has two Mystic Artes: Holy Binds and Divine Judgment.

Holy Binds functions similarly to Kratos’ Mystic Arte. Zelos must use Demon Spear at least 100 times. Once he’s in Over Limit and his HP is critical, use Demon Spear to activate Holy Binds.

Divine Judgment, requires him to use the Judgment spell at least 20 times. Once he’s in Over Limit, cast Judgment as normal to activate Divine Judgment.

Presea Combatir

Presea has two Mystic Artes, Infernal Ruin and Crimson Devastation.

Infernal Ruin requires her to use Beast at least 100 times, and have the EX Gem Lv. 3 P. Charge equipped. Once Presea gets her new Keycrest, and she’s in Over Limit, hold down the attack button to activate your P. Charge gem. Use Beast to activate Infernal Ruin.

Crimson Devastation requires her to use Beast at least 200 times. You’ll need to activate the Compound EX Skill Overcharge, which activates when you have both P. Charge and Taunt EX Skills equipped.

During battle, Presea must enter Over Limit. The entire party needs to be dead, with only Presea standing. Activate P. Charge just like before by holding the attack button down, then use Beast to activate Crimson Devastation, which is probably the strongest Mystic Arte in the entire game.

Regal Bryant

Regal’s Mystic Arte, Fanged Finality, is a swift and long string of rapid attacks. He must use Force at least 100 times. While in Over Limit, Regal must use at least three Artes in a combo and the last Arte must be Force.
