Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl are both Pokemon games that have their story based within the Sinnoh region. However, in both of these games, you are able to catch Pokemon from other regions, and the only thing that can help you to do it is called PokeRadar. This is a very useful piece of equipment, as there are lots of Pokemon that you can’t get without this item. This guide will tell you how to use the PokeRadar in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
How to Use the PokeRadar in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
PokeRadars in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are items that you need to use if you want to get Pokemon from other regions. But you should remember that PokeRadar can be used only on grass. If you try to do it in a cave, the item won’t work. When you activate PokeRadar while standing on grass, you will be able to see how it works. The radar will shake 4 patches of grass. By these patches’ moves, you can determine your catch.

There are three different types of shaking. The first one is the normal one—it looks like usual shaking grass and it signals that there are no special Pokemon. If the grass has yellow emissions while shaking, you will be able to catch a special Pokemon from another region. Finally, you have better chances to encounter a shiny Pokemon when you see a shiny symbol above the patch of grass.
There is a chain mechanic that activates when you successfully catch or defeat a Pokemon. It makes another 4 patches of grass shake so you can continue to catch Pokemon. If you break this chain, you will have to walk 50 steps till the radar is once again recharged.
