Dead By Daylight has a system where players must claim perks and items from a web, each claim costing Bloodpoints which are earned while playing. Some perks are only available by levelling up a certain Killer, allowing them then to appear on any Killer’s Bloodweb, these are called Teachable Perks. General perks are available from the start for every Killer and appear randomly in a Killer’s Bloodweb. Perks in a Bloodweb will appear first as a tier 1, then tier 2, and finally tier 3, and at tier 3 the perk is at its strongest. Unrelenting is a general perk in Dead By Daylight and will appear in a Bloodweb of any Killer.
How to Use Unrelenting
As the name might suggest, Unrelenting allows the Killer to resist slowing down after they hit a Survivor, even if the attack misses. At tier 1 Unrelenting the cooldown from a missed hit is decreased by 20%, at tier 2 the cooldown is decreased by 25%, and at tier 3 the cooldown from a missed hit is decreased by 30%.
Unrelenting is not considered one of the meta perks of the game for killers but it is a very useful perk nonetheless. When it is used against Survivors who are using second chance perks such as Dead Hard, where the Survivor can quickly charge forward to avoid an attack, making a Killer swing and miss, Unrelenting can help the Killer recover quicker and catch up with the escaping Survivor.
Unrelenting is not particularly useful for ranged Killers, or Killers who mainly use their special ability like Huntress, The Artist, or Trickster, as it only applies to the use of the main weapon. Wraith, Trapper, or Ghostface would find it a good addition to their perk build.
Generally speaking it is not an S tier perk but somewhat middling. It is good for new players to use while they figure out the mechanics of the game and maybe miss a few swings, and it is definitely good to try to counter Dead Hard, but it is only really a C tier perk overall.
