Like many other open-world games, you can walk, sprint, or run in Hogwarts Legacy. By default, walking isn’t something that you learn in the game, as you can walk by simply moving your character around.

To run or sprint, however, you have to press the left joystick (L3) on your controller when walking. Also, using a joystick as a button can toggle running and allow your character to turn their slight running into a full-on sprint that shows they’re in a haste.

You can stop sprinting by simply releasing L3, which makes you go back to your normal walk. Pressing L3 again will see you pick up the pace and start running. If you’re just starting out your journey, be sure to take some time and go over the basic tutorials to avoid missing some relevant information that may be helpful throughout the game.

And if you don’t feel like wasting time sprinting around Hogwarts, then you can use Floo Flames to fast travel through various locations and complete quests a little bit faster.

Hogwarts Legacy is scheduled to launch globally on Feb. 10, initially for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
