Among the mini-games available in Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition is the Grand Slam tournament. Here’s how to enter it and what you get from winning it.

How to Win the Grand Slam in Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition

The Grand Slam tournament becomes available in Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition in the second half of the game. Right after the events in Fort Dragonia in Another World, Serge and his companions will be stranded in Home World, and to get back to the other world, they will need to explore a few different locations, including the S.S. Zelbess, where you will have to find the Sage of Marbule.

After you have managed to win against Fargo in the roulette mini-game, you will get access to a new area on the ship, which is reached by going to the left on the lowest floor. Here, you will find the sage, but if you go down the ladder, you will find the Grand Slam tournament. To take part, all you need to do is go to the left, up, and then right.

The Grand Slam tournament is a unique tournament where you can only use monsters. For each round, you will have to pick three different monsters, so you will have to use a grand total of nine if you make it to the last round. The list of available monsters is the same one as that of Sprigg’s Dopplegang ability, so you can expand it by letting Sprigg, or a character equipped with the Forget-Me-Not Pot defeat monsters in regular encounters.

As some of the monsters you encounter in the Grand Slam tournament are quite strong, it’s better to put off winning it until later in the game once you have expanded your monster list a bit. By winning the tournament, you will get a Stamina Belt, a Resistance Belt, and Janice as a party member.
