Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity

Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity Is The Best Selling Warriors Game Ever

Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity has had a pretty impressive launch, which wasn’t too surprising, considering how popular the Zelda series and Breath of the Wild in particular are. The great launch sales translated into an even more impressive performance which made the game the best selling Warriors game ever released.

According to Koei Tecmo’s latest financial report, Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity shipped 3.5 million units worldwide as of December 2020. While the results are not as great as those achieved by other Nintendo titles, they are still great for a Warriors title, as main entries and spin-off games in the series do not usually manage to sell a whole lot, even though they may be based on other popular franchises.

Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity success is totally deserved, as it is a great hack and slash game that manages to masterfully combine the action gameplay seen in the Warriors series with features and mechanics lifted from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Playing the game is definitely a great way to make the wait for Breath of the Wild 2 more bearable.

Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity is now available on Nintendo Switch. If you’re just starting out in the game, and want to learn more about its mechanics, do not forget to check out our guides!
