Is Rayquaza in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet? Explained

Unfortunately, Rayquaza does not seem available in the game.

Rayquaza is a legendary serpent beloved in the Pokemon franchise. Introduced in Generation 3, Rayquaza is said to live high up in the stratosphere. In times of danger, it will descend to earth to stop the fighting between Kyogre and Groudon. Rayquaza can mega-evolve on its own by powering up an organ inside its body. As a fan favorite, it often appears in games as a catchable unit, typically in a post-game setting. However, did it actually make the cut for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet? We checked the answer for you. The question is, is Rayquaza in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?

Rayquaza from Pokemon.

Ideally, the easiest way to get Rayquaza would be porting it from a Pokemon Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl game to Pokemon HOME, where you would then transfer it to your Violet or Scarlet game. You’d need to wait until Pokemon Home is updated to be compatible with the Violet and Scarlet games, which likely will occur next Spring or Summer.

How To Get Rayquaza In Ramanas Park

To get Rayquaza in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, you have to unlock Ramanas Park, which is done when you complete the main story, unlock the National Pokedex, and defeat the champion Cynthia. Once you finish all the requirements, you’ll be notified that Ramanas Park is now open. To get there, use the HM Surf on the beach on Route 219.

Move eastward in the water, passing Route 220 and 221 until you reach land with a walking area. Follow the path to the right, where you’ll see the Ramanas Park building. To battle Rayquaza, you need the Stratospheric Slate, which requires beating some other legendaries in a specific algorithm first.
