Is the Tac Shotgun Back in Fortnite? – Answered

Tactical Shotgun aka Tac Shotgun is among the oldest weapons in Fortnite and was first introduced in Season 0. The Tac Shotgun is a fully automatic, short-ranged weapon and can be fired continuously without affecting accuracy. However, at medium range, it suffers due to the bullet spread failing to connect with a target, and at long ranges, it is almost completely ineffective. 

With Fortnite Chapter 3 bringing many new and old weapons to the game, many wonder whether the Tac Shotgun is back in Fortnite or not.

As of writing this article, the Tac Shotgun Back is vaulted and not available in Fortnite. This isn’t the first time Epic Games has vaulted the weapon and there remains a possibility that the developers might bring it back. Epic vaulted the Tactical Shotgun in all rarities in Chapter 2 Season 8 with the update v18.00. The news might come as a disappointment to many and currently, it’s unclear whether the Tac Shotgun weapon will come back in Fortnite Chapter 3 or not. 

Epic recently unvaulted the Heavy Shotgun which was vaulted in 2019 during the 7.30 update. The weapon is available in all rarities, ranging from common to legendary and has undergone some slight modifications. The Heavy Shotgun now fires a single pellet, meaning players have to be more accurate in their shots.

There’s a chance that the developers might bring the Tac Shotgun back at a later stage with some tweaks. Until then, players will have to stick to weapons available in the game.
