In today’s article we are going to go over all of the League of Duel tips and cheats that we collected so far and share them with you, while giving you a complete game guide to further understand all of its mechanics.
If you are familiar with Yu Gi Oh, then you most certainly will know what this game is all about, but if you don’t then let me explain it briefly. Basically you are going to have to build your character’s deck and fight various opponents so that you can win all of the battles. There are a ton of cards, and if you want to know all about preparing a good deck, and fighting your opponents the right way, then you came to the right place!
So without further ado, let us dive right into the League of Duel tips and tricks right here below to help you win all of your duels and fights!
Start by learning the basics
In this game there are quite a few basic things that you need to keep track of, or better said – to learn at start. These things will help you better understand the battles and your opponents and that will mean that eventually you will learn how to deal with any situation that might appear.
One of these basic things is the way that your deck and character are built. But to make things simpler, let me explain things one at a time:
– Your deck can have a maximum of 40 cards. You can play with fewer cards of course, but it is entirely up to you. I will tell you all the advantages and disadvantages of this down below.
– The battles can last either 20 rounds, or until you ran out of cards (this goes hand in hand with the number of cards that you have in your deck – if your cards in the deck reach 0, you can’t play any more cards).
– Your cards can have either an Attacking position (offensive) or Defensive position.
– The cards that you have used up in battle will go to the Graveyard, and will not be shuffled again into your deck once you have 0 cards left.
– There are 4 different characters in the game, each one having their own deck, which can be arguably better or worse – depending on how you see it.
– When you place a card in the Defensive position, it can not attack, but if the card’s defense is high enough, it can block the opponent’s attack.
Complete in game duel stages
In the game there are those stages that could count as story mode stages, where you will have to fight with various NPCs and slowly progress through all of the stories. Well, there is not much of a story, but you get the point.
I suggest that you try and progress through these battles so you can practice your card duel skills versus some good opponents. I consider this a good training, because if you are playing versus real players (real people), they might not have good cards unlocked yet, or they simply won’t know how to properly fight.
If you choose to fight versus the bots, you will face a few good challenges, that’s why I suggest that you try this, because it will be a better training than fighting people who don’t know how to fight.
Another good thing that you will achieve by completing the in game stages is that you will collect a lot of Coins, which you can then use to purchase card packs. Every first time you clear a stage you will receive quite a bit of Coins, so make sure that you do this if you want to invest into card packs.
Create a good and powerful deck of cards
Now to be honest with you, I do mess up in battles sometimes, and I did quite a lot at the beginning until I have invested in card packs and put together a decent deck. But you don’t have to do that, so let me explain how you can win the fights much easier.
The most important thing is to have a good deck at hand. By having a good deck you will, first and foremost, increase your chances of winning by quite a lot. So once you saved up enough Gold, head on to the Grandpa’s Shop in the main interface and there you can see a list of tabs on the left side of the screen.
Head on to either Character Card Pack tab or the Rare Pack tab, and select which one you would like to purchase. You can see the list of cards that is contained inside there, so just check them out and purchase the ones that you consider to be better. I personally suggest buying a few of each, because it can’t be bad having enough cards to pick from.
This should be one of your main focuses early on – collect a lot of Gold and start buying card packs so that you can make up a pretty decent card deck.
Once you did this, it’s time to put the deck together. Head to the the “My Deck” menu and tap, drag and drop the cards that you like and want onto your deck, and the cards that you don’t want on your deck, drag and drop them onto the ones that are on equipped, on the top.
Know when to attack
Now a very nice and simple way to improve at the game is to know when to strike. This means that you should know when to attack your opponent and when to end your turn, because it can be a matter of win or lose.
The most important point here is that you can only defeat an enemy card if you have the same or higher attack. For example, if you have a card that has 1400 attack/1000 defense and the enemy has a card that has 1200 attack/1400 defense, then you can attack that card and win the fight only if the card is in “attack” position.
If that card is in defense position, then you will defeat it, but your card will also be sent to the Graveyard. So if you still haven’t got what I mean here, let me simplify it:
– You can defeat a card and keep your card only if the enemy’s card number is lower than your card number (be it defense or attack).
– If you attack an enemy card which has the same card number as yours, chances are, you will lose your card, but also take out the enemy’s card.
– If you attack an enemy card with numbers higher than yours, you will lose your card and the attack will have no effect.
So you see, it doesn’t matter if you attack a thousand times – if you don’t have strong cards, you will not take down your enemy’s HP.
Obtain new characters
In the game there are four characters: Yugi Muto (the main one), Seto Kaiba (the one with arguably the best deck), Joey Wheeler and Mai Valentine. The one you will have for free when you start off the game is Yugi of course, so you might as well get used to his deck and cards because if you are a f2p player it will take a while to save enough Gems to unlock a new one.
To unlock a new character you can head on to the “Character” menu in the main interface (bottom left corner) or tap on your profile icon in the top left corner of the screen and select the “Switch Character” option.
Unlocking any of the other 3 characters costs 500 Gems (for each), so if you want to try out a new one I suggest that you save for Kaiba, because I consider him to have the best cards.
Start the battles defensively strong
Now this is something that I have found works well for me, so I definitely suggest that you give it a try because it could really turn the battle around for you. So whenever you are starting a new fight, if you happen to be the first player to go, you cannot attack the enemy.
What you should do in this situation is pick your card with the highest attack or defense, and place it down. If you happen to have a card that has 1400 Attack and 1700 Defense for example, or any card that has a lot of defense, then place it down defensively.
You can turn a card into “Defense” mode by tapping and dragging left or right on the card, to turn in around. You can see that the number will change when you do this, so give it a try. Since you cannot attack anyway in this turn, I think that this is the best approach you could have.
Complete in game Achievements
You can find the game’s Achievements in the main interface in the bottom left corner of the screen. Head on there and check out the whole list of achievements, because there are quite a lot of them!
For example, when you will log in to the game on the seventh day you will unlock a new back design for your cards! I really suggest going through the list and checking out the tasks because if you want to collect Gold, then you can also look to try and complete as many Achievements as you can.
Trap Cards are somewhat mandatory
Now you might think that the best cards in game are the ones with the highest attack and damage numbers, but to be honest with you, if you played the story mode, once you reach the last stage I really think that you can hardly pass it only with good numbers alone.
The Trap cards will offer you various “traps” to help keep the enemy in check, so I suggest that you add a few of them to your deck, because they can make quite a big difference.
If you failed once, don’t give up! Try again!
This little tip is going to come in handy especially during the story mode stages. Again, you will encounter quite powerful opponents, so depending on how you formed your deck, you will get some random cards from there.
Now the cards that you get at start can be super detrimental to the game, so pay close attention. If you are getting Trap cards early on, make sure you use them at the right time. When you play versus the bots they will tend to use the same cards and moves over and over again, even if their cards are a little randomized too.
So you can use this to try and predict when and what they are going to use, and try to time your Trap cards right (if you don’t have, then add some to your deck and try again). Try to learn the cards an enemy has in their deck, because that way you will know what to expect.
If you are having a hard time, then you don’t have to worry! Even if you fail once, twice or 10 times, you should keep on going and trying again and again. Eventually you will draw the right cards and defeat the opponent! Just keep in mind: don’t give up!
You can try the Lucky Turntable
In game there is this Lucky Turntable which will cost 20 Gems per spin, but which can give you quite a lot of good rewards in exchange. If you feel like spending your Gems on it, you can go ahead and give it a few spins, but I honestly don’t recommend it.
You should instead save your Gems to unlock new characters, but it’s entirely up to you! (I personally tried over 200 Gems on it and received just Gold)
Log in every day to claim rewards
Every single day that you will log in to the game you will be able to claim some cool rewards which you can use to either get more cards, or simply claim the cards! Tap on the “Login Reward” tab in the main interface and there you will see a list of tabs where you can claim a ton of rewards.
Check them all out and try to log in every day to the game just to claim them, even if you don’t plan on playing that particular day! It will come in handy when you decide to play, so just do it because it will take a couple of seconds only.
Check out the in game events!
In game you will find quite a lot of events, which can be time limited. Check them out in the main interface under your character’s icon, under the “Event” tab. There you will see a list of all the events in game, so check them out and see for which ones you can qualify!
Claim the gift codes!
In game you can also claim various gift codes which will be posted on the game’s Facebook page! Head on there and like the page, because every once in a while they will post a code which you can use to claim various in game gifts!
For example, the active code at the moment is “dAHaDKnbk“. Tap on your character’s profile and select the red button “Giftpack Redeem” and type it in there. By doing this you can claim some free rewards!
