1. Complete the quests!

If you’re familiar at all with these city building games, you know very well that there’s a ton of quests waiting for you to complete. Your main quest is listed at the bottom of the screen and it’ll take you to exactly what you need to do if you tap it. You should always be completing these quests as they will lead you down the general progression route and ensure that your empire stays up-to-date.

2. Collect your mystery box goodies!

The green chest at the bottom right corner is the mystery box. Like the name implies, you’ll never know what you’ll get whenever you open one of these! Usually it’ll end up being resources and supplies of some kind. The best part of these things is that you can open them for free once a certain amount of time has passed, usually only a couple of minutes. Even better – their contents get better the more times you open them! Just note that the time you have to wait between chests also goes up, but that’s a fair price to pay for more free resources!

3. Keep your academy researching!

Once you build an academy, you can research various buffs to different sectors of your base. There are four categories: economy, defense, military, and monster hunt. Starting a research will have you wait a little while, usually ranging from half and hour to more, then you’ll receive a permanent buff. If you’re unsure of where to start first, we recommend the Construction Speed research in the economy tab. This reduces the amount of time you need to wait for buildings to finish. After that, it’s up to you where you want to divide your research. You can go balanced and get a little bit of each, or focus on city or military. It’s your choice, but just remember to always have a research going.

4. Join a guild!

Also like many other city building games, you’re going to want to join a guild as soon as possible. When you join your first guild, you’ll gain a whopping 400 gems! If that’s not reason enough, your guild can help you with construction times, come to your aid when you’re attacked by other players, and so forth. You can also earn points towards your guild which in turn will net you sweet rewards. Basically, there really is no downside to being in a guild, so join one or make one yourself as soon as you can!

5. Scout before you commit!

When you’re attacking another city, be it an actual player or an NPC, make sure you scout them out first. Scouting a city will reveal information to you, like what heroes they have or what type of units they’re specializing in. It compresses all of this info into one tidbit at the top of info box: this will show you what kind of units YOU should bring into the battle for the highest chance of winning. Take this information to heart and make sure you’re prepared adequately!
