Here’s everything you need to know to play Mario properly in Mario Golf: Super Rush

Overview

Being the main character in Mario Golf: Super Rush, Mario is a balanced character that’s easy to use for newcomers and an excellent choice for veterans. The character is defined by an extremely high speed, 9, which makes him one of the fastest characters in the game. This, coupled with the high power stat, makes Mario the perfect choice for Speed Golf.

Mario’s Base Stats

Power – 220 yd
Stamina – 10/15
Speed – 9/10
Control – 6/10
Spin – 3/10

Mario’s Abilities

Mario’s Special Shot is the Super Star Strike. This Special Shot is extremely versatile as it not only lets you blast the ball away, covering an extremely good distance but also grants a Speed boost as well as invincibility that lets Mario knock down any opponent he touches. This Special Shot is extremely good to use in Speed Golf and Battle Golf, as its unique traits cover areas that are quite important in these two play modes.

Mario’s Special Dash is Moonsault Dash. Once activated, this Special Dash makes Mario jump forward and then slide, knocking down any opponent that is touched. Unlike the Super Star Strike, which has a lot of uses, the Moonsault Dash is a lot more situational, as the jumping motion makes it difficult to hit opponents that are close to Mario. The precision needed to use this Special Dash properly often makes it not all that worth it in the end.

How to Unlock the Mario Star Club Sets

Alongside the Standard Club Set, Mario can use two special Club Sets that alter his stats. The first set, which decreases Control but improves Spin, can be unlocked after getting 1000 Character Points. The second set, which massively decreases Control to massively improve Spin, is unlocked after getting 2000 Character Points.
