After traveling all over the galaxy in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, and defeating all sorts of powerful enemies, the Guardians will have to take on the powerful Grand Unifier Raker in one of the most intense boss fights in the entirety of the game.

As it often is, however, things are slightly easier than they seem at first glance, as a solid strategy goes a long way to make things easier.

How to Beat Grand Unifier Raker in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy

The fight against Grand Unifier Raker in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is divided into two different phases.

During the first phase, you will be fighting against the boss’ allies, which can be defeated easily by using the correct Elemental Shot and then dishing out damage once they are stunned.

After defeating all of the minor enemies, you will finally be able to go after Grand Unifier Raker in the fight’s second phase. As soon as this phase starts, however, you will not be able to damage the boss in any way, as you will have to take down his shield first. To do so, just keep attacking the boss while avoiding his attacks, and use abilities like Groot’s tangle to make your job a little easier. Once the shield is down, go at the boss with everything you have got, as the shield will soon be up again, and you will have to disable it once again.

During the fight, there are a couple of special attacks to look out for. The first one is a disabling attack that will put any Guardian out of the first for a short while. To avoid it, just jump as soon as you see the golden box appear.

The second special attack will turn the fight area dark, forcing you to keep an eye on the ground for attack indicators. This sequence doesn’t last very long, but if you fail to avoid all attacks, you could be in serious trouble, so keep your focus. If you are lucky and play your cards right after taking down the shield, you won’t have to deal with this darkness technique more than a couple of times.
